In a heartwarming video posted on Halloween, Spider-Man 3 star Tom Holland helps a young heart transplant patient become Spider-Man. Holland plays the Marvel hero in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home and has recently appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame alongside his fellow Avengers in the fight against Thanos.
Holland has recently arrived in Atlanta following the wrap of another film, Uncharted, to start filming Spider-Man 3. He is joined by his cast members from the previous two films, Jacob Batalon and Zendaya, who are both speculated to play larger roles in the upcoming sequel. Spider-Man: Far From Home director Jon Watts will return to direct, and the film is slated for a 2021 release.
In a Twitter video posted by Jaimie Trueblood on Halloween, Holland appeared on-screen for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, entrusting his Spider-Man duties to a young heart transplant recipient named Jerry. In the trailer-like video, Holland runs into a classroom in a rush and says that even superheroes have to take final exams. He asks Jerry to fill in for him, and the video cuts to a card on-screen introducing the Spiderverse’s newest hero: SpiderJerry. An excited Jerry shoots webs from his wrists and takes on his role like it’s second nature. Watch the trailer for “SpiderJerry: Close to Home” below:
