While the name may escape you, you’ve almost certainly come across Dawg’s music before. As a hip-hop producer and writer, Dawg’s paw prints have been left on the records of string of artists that read like a who’s who in popular music. From Tyga and Lil Jon to Mac Dre and Ludacris, and plenty of studio hours spent with Scott Storch, Ant Clemons and Usher, this Dawg now turns his attention to flipping the work of David Guetta.

Dawg has taken the originally radio friendly Memories by Guetta featuring Kid Cudi and dawged all over it. He’s created a slower paced, dark trap edit and while it has a sinister vibe, Cudi’s vocals take on a softer dimension, sounding out in the back of the track to allow Dawg’s clean production to become the star of the show.

Fans of the original track will also recognise some other new additions…

After hearing the Scotts record I was inspired to flip a Cudi joint and put Travis adlibs over it. And since Memories was a dance record originally, it felt like a unique and dope song to redo with a hip hop vibe.
