Following the release of ‘Lemonade’ which saw three spins across BBC Radio 1 on ‘Future Artists’ and on the nationwide BBC Introducing show, the alt/pop electronic collective Dutchkid are back with new single ‘Sugar’ on Ultra Music.

Marking single number two to be taken from their upcoming debut album also on Ultra Music, Dutchkid continue to turn heads with their unique brand of stylish electronic pop.

Written in the unlikely location of an Airbnb, Dutchkid once again demonstrate the raw talent that so rightly earned them a BBC Introducing Best of 2020 accolade.

We wrote ‘Sugar’ with our friend and producer John Foyle (Gorillaz, Years & Years, Jai Paul). We set up a portable studio in an Airbnb in the middle of England and over the course of a weekend we wrote ‘Sugar’. It’s based on a fictional character, imagining how to go about telling the person they’re in love with.

Like all Dutchkid productions, ‘Sugar’ was built from the ground up. Layered with a warm synth bassline and drums with a rhythm all of their own, it has an irresistible groove and stands out from the pack.

Translating that demand into a live setting, Dutchkid will be back performing to crowds on 10 December 2021 at Oslo in Hackney, East London. Here they’ll perform the new album for the first time to live audiences as UK events open up, post-pandemic.
