Multi-platinum music producer, Kaelin Ellis has just released a new 12-track-project entitled Moments that showcases his versatility and production skillset at its best. As the name suggests, the tracks are soundbites at around 90 seconds, but what they lack in length they make up for in sonic wonderment (think Flying Lotus, Kaytranada, and Monte Booker) and they left us wanting more!
The project was created over the past 6 months via Ellis’s Twitter feed and since were polished together to create this impressive body of work. One particular track, WHITE WALLS, caught the eye of Lupe Fiasco, who recorded a verse over the instrumental and shared it on his Twitter account. And Okayplayer featured SWIM as in its round up of week’s best songs giving another nod to the impact Moments has had.
With over 10 years of performance and hands-on creative experience under his belt, Kaelin Ellis has established himself among the top class of producers in the modern electronic / hip-hop beat scene. Formerly known as mr.mockwell, he was originally part of an online crew, dubbed “loaflab”, where he later collaborated with Kaytranada, Sango and many more. Ellis also has many production credits with Lupe Fiasco, Waldo, Sango and Deffie.
