We weren’t sure about this one when we first heard it at Global Frequency HQ. ‘Discopolis’ is a stone-cold classic, a moment in Ibiza history which should be left alone out of respect, no?
Lifelike & Kris Menace’s seminal track was originally released in 2005 (and re-released as ‘Discopolis 2.0’ in 2015), and picked up on by BBC Radio 1 figurehead Pete Tong, before breaching the Top 100 of the U.K. Singles chart and selling over 30.000 vinyls.
Well, if anyone was going to give it their best shot for a killer remix it’s Meduza, one of the hottest names in electronic music right now. So we decided to give it a listen and you know what? It’s pretty damn good. The original is still the best but Meduza have kept the elements which make it special and given it a respectful and contemporary makeover.
As soon as we’re allowed to get back on the dancefloors expect to hear this everywhere.
