The masked killer Ghostface is back in the six (yes, sixth!) sequel of Scream in a fresh murder spree. Like the return of Scream 2022, Scream VI brings back many returning characters. There’s Courtney Cox (Gale Weathers), Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter – the illegitimate daughter of original Scream killer Billy Loomis), and Jenny Ortega (Tara Carpenter), also now the story brings back Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding as twins Mine and Chad Meeks-Martin, while new cast members include Samara Weaving, Henry Czerny, Tony Revolori, and Jack Champion.
This time its set in the hustle and bustle of New York City and looking at times to be an action-come-horror with the trailer showing an intense shotgun stalking session, a shrine to previous killers, and a ferocious attack on Courteney Cox’s returning Gale Weathers.
If in doubt that this franchise was over and done, it actually looks to be a refreshing, rip-roaring ride with exciting new blood in its young cast, and directing duo Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin.
It’s in UK cinemas from 10th March.
